BREAST RECONSTRUCTION WITH LATISSIMUS DORSI FLAP 256

After thorough clinical analysis of her breast deformity, volume and available tissues for breast reconstruction we decided to proceed with extended latissimus dorsi breast reconstruction. Large back muscles with islands of skin and subcutaneous fat tissue were used to restore volume and shape of her breasts.

Before surgery images on the left demonstrate breast deformity after reconstruction with implants and outlined donor site for the flaps. Postoperative result after reconstruction with patient own tissue in form of extended latissimus dorsi flap is on the right. Nipple reconstruction and areola tattoo was done 3 and 6 months after flap reconstruction.
