BROW LIFT CASE
A 63-year-old cosmetic surgery patient from out of town came to our Ft. Lauderdale plastic surgery office requesting correction of “droopy eyebrows”.
Clinical evaluation demonstrated mild forehead-brow sagging (brow ptosis) with heavy skin folds (hooding) visible in the area between eyebrows and upper eyelids (left).
In general anesthesia supervised by an anesthesiologist we performed endoscopic brow lift. Through 2 small incisions placed in the hairline we separated the skin of the forehead and brows from the bone attachments; a partial removal of frown muscles (corrugator muscle, procerus muscle) was done under control of endoscopic camera. Forehead and brows were lifted into desired position and fixed to the bone using biodegradable Coapt plates. No upper/lower eyelid surgery was done on this patient.
Before brow lift surgery (left); 1 year after endoscopic brow lift (forehead lift) on the right. There is a significant improvement in appearance of the upper eyelids and eyelid-brow area having in mind the fact that we did not do any surgery on her eyelids.
