FACE LIFT AND NECK LIFT CASE #334

A cosmetic patient from Fort Lauderdale came to our plastic surgery practice for consultation about facial rejuvenation. She complained that her face looks saggy, deflated and tired. She did not like skin folds underneath her eyes, flat cheeks and thick neck bands and folds. She was 63 years old and she thought that she looks much older then her actual age. She was a busy, high energy professional woman that wanted to look younger and rejuvenated.

The clinical evaluation demonstrated signs of aging skin and facial supporting structures associated with small bonny frame, in particular small and flat cheekbones. We discussed upper and lower eyelid surgery (upper and lower blepharoplasty), cheek augmentation with cheek implants, fat grafting of multiple areas of the face with her own fat tissue and full face and neck lift.

Surgery was done using general anesthesia in our office based plastic surgery center. It included a full face and neck lift with SMAS plication, upper and lower eyelid surgery, placement of silicone cheek implants through eyelid incisions and fat grafting of cheeks, temples, brows, around mouth, lips, chin and jawline. She was discharged home 2 hours after the procedure; neck drain was removed next day, eyelid sutures were removed in 4 days, face sutures (in front of the ear) were removed in 9 days. She was back to her full duty in 3 weeks.

Patient is shown before facial rejuvenation surgery and six months after full face and neck lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, cheek implants and fat grafts to multiple areas of the face. Additional fat grafting is planed in the future to further improve volume and harmony of her face.
