FACIAL FAT GRAFTS 267

This 49-year-old cosmetic surgery patient out of town came for consultation about hollowness underneath his eyes. He wanted discrete correction without “major surgery”. We initially discussed placement of small cheek implants which will correct his mild cheek bones deficiency. We also discussed fat grafts and soft tissue fillers. He selected fat grafts.

Under local anesthesia, a small amount of fat tissue was harvested from his lower abdomen, purified from blood, fluids and detritus and then injected into upper cheeks and lower eyelid using a small 1 mm cannula. His recovery was uneventful; he was back to work in 7 days.

Patient is shown before fat graft augmentation and 6 months after fat grafting of upper cheek and lower eyelid area.
