CORRECTIVE NOSE SURGERY CASE #241

This plastic surgery patient from Miami area had a nose surgery done several years ago elsewhere. However, she was not happy with the outcome and she came to our Fort Lauderdale plastic surgery office for consultation regarding secondary corrective rhinoplasty. She did not like appearance of the tip of the nose and the fact that columella (central column of the nose) is hidden underneath the nose tip. This gives impression that her nose tip is droopy.

After detailed evaluation and analysis of her nose we concluded that she will benefit from secondary tip and columella correction with cartilage grafts.

Surgery was done in twilight anesthesia in our outpatient plastic surgery center in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.. Cartilage grafts were taken from the nasal septum, carefully shaped and placed into nasal tip and columella to lift and rotate nose tip and push retracted columella forward.

On the left patient is shown before corrective nose surgery; on the right she is shown 1 year after nose tip and columella correction with cartilage grafts. Notice subtle change in the tip which is gently rotated upwards and visible columella underneath the tip. These few subtle changes have significantly improved aesthetic appearance of her nose and overall facial harmony.
