FACIAL IMPLANTS CHEEK AFTER FACELIFTS

This patient presented in our office requesting improvement of the face. He had 2 facial surgeries (face lifts) in the past but he was still unhappy with his look. He thinks that his eyes are too bulgy and his cheeks are too small for his face.

Clinical exam in our Fort Lauderdale plastic surgery office revealed a moderate malar hypoplasia (weak cheek bones) which causes his eyeballs to protrude. We discussed options of surgical improvement by means of cheek enlargement with silicone cheek implants plus fat grafting of the cheek area to augment soft tissue on top of implants. He decided to have cheek implants only.

His surgery was done in our office surgery facility AAAA certified. It involved placement of medium size cheek implants through inside of the mouth incisions.

Patient is shown before cheek augmentation with implants (left) and 6 months after cheek implants (right). There is an improvement in overall facial balance but it was our common conclusion that a larger size implants and enhancement with fat grafts would have produced even better result.
